P-Scores added to tFREAK data

You may have noticed a new column in the True FREAK Rating database. That new addition is Position Adjusted Score (or P-Score), which is generated by taking a players tFREAK Rating and calculating the amount of standard devitions that score is from the players positional average. These position adjusted ratings are great for comparing players across different positions, as some (like EDGE rushers) generally have higher tFREAK ratings than other positions.

With P-Scores adjusting for position, we are given great insight on how rare a players traits actually are. Let's take Penn State EDGE Carl Nassib for example. In raw tFREAK rating, Nassib ranked #13 out of all players, which at first looks impressive. But when you implement P-Score, Nassib falls all the way down to #63. This huge drop really shows how raw scores can be decieving, and that Nassib really isn't all that FREAK-y when taking position into account.

Perspective is important when looking at any system, and tFREAK is no different. I hope these P-Scores help when comparing players across different positions, as that is always an important piece of the evaluation process.
